How long are the bulbs? I run 8 x 24" t5ho on my 55g for 6 hrs a day and have almost no algae problem. It is high light and can cause some problems if u don't have enough plants and don't inject co2

24" =)  just not sure about how to use co2 yet... how much and often do you inject co2 in yours? I have algae on and off now but it doesnt bother me and the snails like it. I've had my HG for a few months, but it is not growing fast and spreads barely at all... I have other plants as well, just want my HG to take over the bottom, and wanted to make sure I had enough light, was debating a Hydrofarm fixture 2 ft 4 bulb or another fixture that's 2 ft 8 bulb...

since it is an already established tank, with a large stock, is there a good way to go about adding the co2 slowly to make sure i dont kill off everything i have once i order the 8 bulb fixture? bubbles per second = bps? good system to use/ cheapish... anything special to know since im a newb and scared of co2 lol

yes bps is bubbles per second. to start off slowly because of ur stock u run 1bps. with 3bps being the max for most tanks. here is a cheap co2 system http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/showthread.php?t=115850
