Most livebearers will do good, and will breed. My personal favorites are heterandri formosa, and endlers.

What size tank? That will help determine what kind of fish. If you want something a little fancier than guppies and neons and you're tank is big enough, rainbows do well but require a larger tank since they are very active. South American Cichlids also do well but some can be a little tricky. I've also recently fell in love with Pelvicachromis pulchers. They are cheap and hardy but also very good looking fish. They remind me a lot of Apisto's but at a fraction of the cost.

I agree all those fish will do well in a planted tank (if its big enough) but guppies are by far the easiest to breed. Most species of livebearers breed like rabbits!
