crypts are also a great low light option
figure out what you will be getting for lights, if you want low maintenance or if you have a lot of time to maintain, also temp and ferts and if your adding co2. if you want a low tech tank go with anubias, java fern mosses, if you have only ok lights crypts are a great option. make a plan for your tank then do research from there. this will save time and money
are the lights LED or fluorescence tubes or standard bulbs? I am assuming you have tubes. If you are going to plant, Get a 6500k bulb for your light. I am also assuming you have no dirt. so swords will work and java moss any floating plants will work. I would put C02 On the tank also to supplement the lack of dirt. you can make a c02 generator very cheap. Run lights on a timer only 5 or 6 hours a day.
