So I figured it was time to break down and get the tank I had been eye balling for sometime now. Shes 75 gallons plain. After browsing at fish for almost a month now, I'v decided to go with cichlids. Any help or advise would be great on this. Thanks!!!!
research each of the individual species that are available to you first. A lot of cichlids will out grow tanks very quickly. if you get the ones that get huge your not gonna want very many. most of them are also diggers so don't bother with plants but make sure they have places that they can hide and get away from each other. what ever hiding places you give them be sure that they are sturdy, the bigger they get the more they can and will rearrange in your tank lol I'm probably missing some things but if you have any other questions i can try to help ya out just shoot me a message.
you looking towards south america cichlids or african? right now Im running a 110 gallon south american cichlid tank and the fish are at a point where they are crowding it...Ive had the tank up for 6 years now.
Im looking toward african but a problem thats occurring is in my area there is no variety to choose from and iv heard mixed feelings on ordering them.
I've never ordered anything like that over the net. best thing i could say is go through or more well know place, go cheap for your first order and see how it goes. That was how I was thinking of doing it anyway...
