garrett, It looks like your gravel may be to large in size or the cap isn't deep enough. If this is what is going on it could be the dirt is seeping through the gravel and staining the water. Try adding more gravel or finding a smaller sized gravel to use as a cap, sand works well too. It looks like you're off to a nice start.Sometimes it is trial and error..I just had to add more sand into my 10 gallon..I would get more stem plants when you can. Can't wait to get my 20 gallon long dirted. :)
