My Florida Gar, when he was still small, eating a feederfish. He's past the 14" nowadays.

I found this guy with pure luck, when he was a baby. I never seen any of them for sale ever since that day. You need a tank with a footprint of at least 6' x2' ,then you can keep them for at least 3 years, but possibly for life. They max out at 20" in tanks, but usually stay a bit smaller. You need that footprint for they are very hardscaled fish and have a hard time turning around.

But very gentle fish, mine is handfed everytime he's hungry, and i've only been bitten once...

I handfeed to make sure the Oscars don't eat all the feederfish.

Thats cool and i have never seen them before for sale either, but i have studied this fish before for a short time. I have always loved this gentle fish because i think its color pattern is cool.
