anybody know if annubias can grow alright when planted in plain aquarium gravel? Its tied to a porous rock right now, but I was thinking of cutting it loose and sticking it in the gravel.

It should be ok  to make sure it survives in plain gravel u can dose ferts to help it out

The roots can be under the gravel just make sure the rhizome stays exposed. The rhizome is the thick green stem at the bottom, if that goes under the gravel, it will rot and die.

thanks a lot!

It seems OK in my tank. the black algae on it came from the LFS but the rest is new.

I have about five of them and they've been in my tank about 2 months and they don't seem to bed growing... What's up with mine?
They need low light and are slow growing. Look at 6 months for new growth.

Ive heard that it grows better on driftwood and rocks than gravel! mine are growing in the gravel but remember NOT to plant the Ryzone(spelling) in the gravel. this should be above. next tank im going to tie a ton of nana's to a piece of sweet drift wood.
