So im going to set up a dirted 20 gallon long (30x12x12) soon and i went to lowes to get a lighting fixture, the best one i could find was $12 and its 4 feet long, (its a foot to long but it was a steal...) it takes 2 T8 lights, the 2 lights i got for it are T8 fluorescent 'sunshine f32' light output of 2800 lumens, color temp is 5000k, cri of 86, is this lighting alright for a dirted heavy planted tank? ive never bought lights like this for an aquarium before, i always got crap from petco or petsmart like zoo med flora suns which have a pinkish glow, but these fluorescents are just white.

yeah should be fine. the 5000k is the right spectrum for your plants. not sure about the amount of lumens but it should work.

ok thanks, another question though, since its 2 4 ft long 32 watt lights thats 64 watts on a 20 gallon aquarium, would that be considerd high light or is that beyond high light and is gunna cause massive algae blooms?

at 3.2 watts per gallon, its decently high, but i wouldnt say too high. just dont run em 12 hrs a day
