Hey guys, here is my 90 gallon. Can I get some suggestions for some foreground/carpet plants I could get to fill in my tank?

Thanks!

Whats your lighting situation?

48 inch 4 bulb T5. I have 3 t5HO 6700k and one bulb that is pinkish, not sure the spectrum but someone told me to get it.

Echinodorus Tenellus. (mini Amazon Sword chain plant)

you can try star grass or dawf sag if you can get a hold of some and you have a good substrate.

DWARF SAG ALL THE WAY

Dwarf Sag is funny. Under low light mine grew to be 8 inches tall - too high for the foreground. But under high light it stayed low - about 1-2 inches which is perfect for the foreground.

Whats your experience level?

Id say dwarf sag or pygmy chain sword, they both will stay pretty short under high light and will send out alot of runners within a few weeks, filling out the tank, since its a 90 id say the chain sword would be better since it grows a little taller though.

Thats a very nice tank! I can't lie i think you should do a bunch of clover. it stays short generally and is pretty hardy from what it looks like in my tank. i also have hair-grass which is growing like a weed. the fish absolutely love it, my cory cats and bolivian rams have laid their eggs in there and makes a great place for fry to hide.

I tried DHG and it isn't really spreading yet, not sure if I possibly have too much gravel on top of my dirt... I might try Dwarf sag instead.

I'm also going to try to find some star grass and replace my wisteria. Thanks for all the advice guys!! I'll post some updates when I can.

Zach, I love Hairgrass.  Under what conditions do you grow it?

Soil type?

Light - color temp and amount? Sunlight?

Water temp?

Ph and hardness?

ferts? co2?

well i did an experiment with hair-grass because people said it doesn't grow fast on a forum i was looking at about a year ago. What i did was i had a 45 gallon with the same led lighting  by aqueon i think the brand was. the other 45 same lighting, same fish in both same substrate which is a plant substrate from my local petstore. in one tank i didn't do water changes, just used a slime coat, no gravel sucking, just let the plant soak up all the bad nutrients that people say are un-natural. The other i did weekly 10 percent water changes, added all the chemicals, gravel sucking, and total changes. Weirdly enough in the tank i did all the work on the plants grew worse and eventually died off. the tank that i left to be natural without all the chemicals and let the natural environment to take care of it did superb. the whole bottom is carpeted with the hair grass as tall as about 1 foot. Also the fish grew faster and were more colorful! So i honestly don't believe all the "rules" all these people say u have to do or ur fish will die or whatever the heck they say. The only way to get a perfect aquarium is to find a perfect setup for you. In my experience it was water changes that fucked it all up, all i did was top off the tank when it evaporated. So its hard to say how it will work with your set-up. i like all natural, no co2 nothing. but it may work differently for you.
