In the upcoming weeks, I'll be converting my 55 gallon to dirt.  I figured what better time to upgrade the lighting.  I bought a Zoomed 48" hood that holds two 54W bulbs. A few sources that I've seen state that 5000K is ideal for plant growth.  However, I've also heard a few people say, from personal experience, that they felt that 5000K actually hurt their plants.   The manufacturer recommends a 5000K ( http://www.bigalspets.com/Zoo-Med-Flora-5000K-Lamp/dp/B003C5JML8 ) and a 6500K ( http://www.bigalspets.com/Zoo-Med-Ultra-6500K-Lamp/dp/B003C5P88Y ) paired with each other.  I'm most likely going to do 1 of each, or 2 6500k's.

Does anyone have any opinions or suggestions for me?

i'd go with one pink plant bulb and and one 6500k so you get a good balnce of red and blue spectrums of light also the 6500k will bring out the colors of your fish.
