OH wow! Their are a whole bunch of those that grow in the garden after it rains a lot. I have never used them totally submerged due to how they grew immersed.
Thanks!! I found theses on the side of a pond.. Figured I would give them a try submerged..... So far so good babies are growning up now and it's only been a week... I guess we will see how they do
Yes, I once left it floating in my small pond outside and it grew with great pleasure (just not in my tank), though the rain over flowed the pond and the plants floated off. lol Nice plants though, and free!
Have you tried the moss outside. I have tried it in the past and they grew exceptionally well, just I am not sure if my lights were not bright enough (I thought mosses do well in low-lighted tanks) but the mosses I tied to a driftwood grew up instead of over and across. It could just be b/c of the type of moss it is, but overall it grew tall and up not spreading around.
The best part is it's free and local... I like finding local stuff. Moss really? I never thought to use it.. I'm gonna see if I can find any and give it a try. I'll put it in my small tank and see if it does anything.
sure, the past two years we created a porch in the back connecting to our house and when it rains the rains create this little "stream-like" bed at the end of the porch, and I have noticed moss overcrowding those areas due to the amount of water associated their. You would also need to rinse it and wash it very well, just in case it carries any harmful bacteria or deadly chemicals into your tank. : )
Thanks for the advice. Will def give it a try... if i can find any :P
