I have african cichlids they're great fish very hardy and easy to take care of but it depends on what kind of cichlids u have i have a peacock/hap or haplochromis tank they are open water swimmers and dont need much rock work as if u have a mbuna or as some people say boo-na tank they are more rock dwellers and need more rock work and lots of hiding places i have a 75gal mbuna tank
I HIGHLY SUGGEST IF UR THINKING OF STARTING A AFRICAN CICHLID TANK TO START OF WITH MBUNA TANK PEACOCK AND HAP TANKED THEY NEED MUCH BIGGER TANK RECOMMEND DONT PUT MBUNAS WITH PEACOCKS AND HAPS MBUNAS ARE REALLY AGRESSIVE AND PEACOCKS/HAPS MORE PEACEFUL.
