Let me know what you guys think. Been work in progress for 2 years.
Looks great, I might change mine soon, my 90 looks like a forest with about 50 fish hiding in amongst the trees.
I'm glad you mentioned that this was a work in progress over 2 years. It made me feel less inadequate about my 55g, which I just rearranged 3 months ago, and doesn't come close to how awesome your tank is. I will see if I have the patience to work at it over two years, or just go crazy, rip it down, and start over in the summer. Keep updating us.
I thought the same thing about 4 months into mine, but i just kept plugging along. trying different light schedules/C02/ferts and water changes. eventually I found a system I was happy with. lots of plant growth. active fish, clean water. it just took time. I'm planning a planted 55 next.
I usually find that the predicted color, growth and height of plants, is not what actually happens, and I end up with really huge plants, in front of shorter plants, two pale green plants together, all the red in one area, etc. Its like that picture on the wall that is just the tiniest bit crooked. I decide to ignore it, because it's too much work to fix. After a while, I get so that all I can see is the flaw, and eventually, I have to tear it down and start fresh. Eventually, I get it just perfect..... and then I find a really cool piece of driftwood, and so it goes..... I have been trying to distract myself with nanotanks.
Just got 9 Neon's to add to the tank. They are schooling up nicely. Their color is always easy on the eye!
