A fat Oto is a happy Oto :)

so my otto cats are all fat from cleaning my tank but yet there is still algae i was wondering can you have more than 4? and my pleco is scared of them lol he is huge but the otos sit on top of him and he flips out and runs away.... i thought plecos where suppose to be fearless

If you still have algae then you have an imbalance somewhere. you can have a large school of algae and MAYBE they can eat it all up, but hopefully not enough to kill their natural food source, at which time you will have to start feeding them algae wafers. It may be easier to simply find balance ecologically than simply adding an algae eater =)

Comment by Anthony Piti on November 23, 2012 at 12:49pm: I have two otos in my 40 gallon and the one thing I notice is that they will prefer (at least mine) to munch on the algae on the plants before they go to the glass, which is fine with me because its always easier to scrape algae off glass that plant leaves.

Like The Man!! said you may want to find balance before adding anymore... the more my plants grow the less algae I am starting to see on my glass.
