I am ordering a ADA fish tank, and I am really excited about it, but i just have a few minor questions for you fish tank people. Because i am new to this, I assume you all know a little bit more about what's out there:

Does the VUPPA-I filter also aerate the water?-- or do I need an air stone.

What kind of air stone do you recommend? (looking for something that can go in the substrate and be completely hidden,

What kind of air pump do you recommend? (something with the minimum sound)

-- Thanks!

Info---

1 BETTA

2 CORY CATS

9 NEON TETRAS

1 OTTO CAT

I now have a 5 gallon tank, and my ADA is going to be 10 gallons, so I'm planning on getting lots more fish. Thanks.

( my fish are now living with the bubbles coming from the filter) Is that enough for them?

If ur fish aren't gasping for air u have enough oxygen in the water. Any type of surface agitation to the water adds a bit of oxygen to it. For air pumps I like the whisper air pumps. For bubbler get a bubble wand that u can place under your gravel. Also if those are all the fish u have now in your 5g u totally have it overstocked.

If you're buying an ada fish tank and it comes with a good canister filter, depending on your suave agitation or is you have an open top tank then you do not needed an air stone. IMO, I think air stones can look like a juvenile idea (eg it make your tank look cheap)

If you look at many pro tanks, with an open top and good flow in the water, it's good enough oxygenation.

My tank has no air stone, good flow and the top is partially open and my fish never gasp for air, even at night when the plants are not photosynthesizing oxygen

well, i asked the person who is selling the tank to me, and he said that the beauty of ADA is to not have any air stone or artificial oxagenating system, and its just the plants. so do you think that with a fully plant tank and a fitler that does not cause bubbles, my fish will be able to live well? please answer! ASAP

as said before Betta, you do NOT need an airstone.  if you have good water flow and an open top tank, then you do not need an airstone.  ADA is to be pretty not cumbersome with equipment in the tank
