Well I've calmed down from my recent upset with CF500 Aquatop filter disaster .  I've ordered me a Fluval 405 canister that should be here in a few days or so .  I'm going to miss the UV sterilizer feature that came with Aquatop's filter ,  but I will at the time I can afford a good sterilizer get one .  I think they are a very good item to use in aquariums .  I have a Fluval 305 already on my 55 gal. cichlid tank , but I'm a beleiver in over filtering .  Maybe not needed but I'm for it .  If anyone has any comments about Fluval filters I would love to here them .  Thanks to all in cyberspace that is reading this .  Remember this ,  there is no gravity ,  the earth suck's !  lol.

Guess I'm still a little pissy about this www.aquatop.com ordeal.

Sincerely your friend of Cichlid's ,  Eric

I had a 350gal marineland canister filter and a few other canister filters over time. I remained loyal to them until i did my research and in the end a 4-stage refugium tank is the way to go with the UV sterilizer. I have 10 stages of filtration in my sytem and though some look at it as over kill, i've never had a problem. I will NEVER run another tank without a UV sterilizer again, just saying. That was the best investment i've ever made in regards to my tank. 150gal-wall mounted with a 35gal refugium. As of recently, my canister took a shit on me and i ended up investing in a 700gph pump... hands down better than a canister any day for too many reasons to write about. The gentle man i got it through and a few others utilizing the same model said they'll last 20-30 years or more. I'm cool with that. Get at me if you want details.

I make sure my tanks are heavily planted. The roots from my Water Cabbage and Water Hyacinths suck up ammonia and nitrites as soon as they're created. No fuss, no mess, and the price is right.
