ive heard it grows real well if you put it sort of half in half out of the water in something floating or on a cool log if you got it...ive never actually tried it never really been that into the stuff but a trusted college of mine said you can get it growing pretty quick that way especially if your trying to get it to stick to a log or something. just figured id share Goodluck!

thanks Il just tied some to my peice of driftwood and tied another to the top of my heater half in and half out of the water :)

i dunno about putting it on the heater it might dry out real quick it might be better to get one of those floating feeder things or make something sorta like it maybe figuring out a way to get a cup or something to float right on the surface i know ive seen something like that either in somebody on heres pictures or some youtube video but i dont remember exactly where right now ill let ya know if i remember or think of a good solution..
