I recently purchased lava rock from my local petco and I was not sure if it is safe for some fish like plecos, Corries,or ottos. can the lava rock be safe for all fish?

Yeah, its safe. In fact it adds a lot of surface area with its holes and crevices.

i don't know about fish, but as far as plants such as anubias and java fern ect, plants that like to grow on things if tying them to rocks instead of drift wood, lava rock seems to be the best for me! i thing there high in minerals and iron or something , plants just seem to grow better.
