I am looking for lighting for my 55 gallon tank. I dose excel and its dirted. I am looking at Aquatic Life duel t5 HO light fixture. I am also maybe thinking about leds? If any one could help me out and give me some advice on what I should look into.
Hi ..... I have a "Aquatic Life" 4 light T5 w/ fan & timer on my 65gal - it has 2 white and 2 Blue bulbs plus it has three led's for night time - the built in timer is great. The light is great for my plants . On your tank a duel would prob do - I went with a 4 bulb fixture . If you go to my "Photo's" on my page you can check out this light on my 65gal.
Peter I have a two t5 HO aquatic life fixture that has 2 24W in it. Then a coralife 2 bulb no 31W t5 lights. I want to grow green temple, and some swords, then crypts. Want a care free easy to do tank
I have the Aquatic Life duel t5 HO light fixture on my 55, I'd recommend it, Im growing every thing from swords to crinum to baby tears.
I orderd a finnex ray fuge LED 7K and the par readings are good on it. I wanted to try somthing diffrent I have t5s for years but I wanted to try LED's for a change.
the finnex fugeray assuming its 30 or 36 inch fixture should be putting out at least ~25 PAR @ 20 inch height from the substrate so thats low light conditions. you should be able to grow some medium light plants with no issue.
Since LED are a more pure light source and made to include better PUR output you should good =)
heres the link for the par reading for finnex fugeray 30 inch
