Planted tank help

I just recently added some plants to my fish tank. When I bought them I was told that they were pretty hardy plants and were perfect for the beginner. I just have a normal gravel substrate and I just recently added some flourish tabs for the plants. I was wondering if and what light should I use for the tank? It's a 29 gallon high. Also I'm leaving for the navy again in a month and I was wondering if anyone had any idea if my tank setup would be simple enough to entrust it to my mom while I was gone, who knows nothing about aquariums. The plants I have are a few anacharis, 2 banana plants, 3 stemmed plants(name unknown), and a grass looking plant(name also unknown).
