Yes pick out every single leaf out because it just takes 1 small leaf for it to reproduce. U always hear Dustin call it the herpes of aquariums because once u have it, it's pretty hard to get rid of it all

I had a 180 gallon planted tank and couldn't wipe it out. Its got into the crevices of my floating wood and hid among the other plants at the surface. The only way I got rid of it was to completely empty out the tank and redo it. (even then I found some survivors) If you've got a small tank with an uncomplicated design and nothing on the surface you can wipe it out though.

Its worth mentioning here that floating plants, including Duckweed, are great for keeping your water clean, but Duckweed needs constant pruning and can't be controlled. Go with Water Lettuce, Riccia, or Water Wisteria.
