With a 10 gallon you have to keep in mind it is very fragile to overfeeding & fish waste. I would cut back to feeding once per day and very little. Feed a very small pinch & if they eat all of it in a couple mins you can give them another but leave it at that. Also are you doing a 10-20 percent water change weekly? Your sick fish is not going to harm your other fish so don't flush him. What kind of filtration are you using? Also what is your substrate & do you have any live plants?
that's really strange as the plants absorb the nitrates and the water changes will lower that level also. changing the water twice a week should also bring that to nearly zero. The only other suggestion I can make if your already doing all that would be if you have a power filter get a bio bag and fill it with activated carbon and fill it up and drop that in your power filter. Run it like that a couple days and then test the water. Good luck
My clients tank had nitrate issues. His problem was the tap water. I tested it and found it was already at nearly 40ppm. Check your water source. Could be the culprit
Water Changes, water changes, water changes
