Try and put ur fish in a cooler of some sort depending on how many fish u have the cooler size will change. Drain ur tanks and leave enough water to just cover substrate. Put plastic wrap over the plants and substrate to avoid splashing. Try to use the water u drain in ur cooler so u dont waste it. If its a long trip they sell battery power air pumps so u can put it in the cooler with the fish .also can get heat packs if water starts to get too cold for u to use. I'm sure some1 else will tell u how they did it so try wats easiest for ya

When I moved I have a 30g and a 40g tank I had to bring and move upstairs. It was less then a 45 min drive from place to place but a few hours to fill tanks and get water right for the fish to not die. I put my fish in a bucket with an airstone at the old place while I prepped the tanks and just had my dad help with the move. I drained as much water as I could even past the substrate line. since water is really heavy and I wasn't worried about the dirt drying by the time I got it to its new home. During the move I was only really worried about the bottom blowing out since I did have that happen with one tank before years back, but both of my tanks made it just fine. They were just really really heavy... the only other way is a full clean keeping all plants and fish in a container and then you do a 100% re-scape of everything. which isn't bad if your bored with the old set up.
