filter help
i want to get a aquaclear 110 for a 55g that i am going to set up and i am worried a bought how long the intake tube is because i want to make a dirted tank with sand cap but i dont want sand being sucked in filter ??? will i just have to go with 2 aquaclear 70's

what size sand are you using? I have pool filter sand in my tanks and the intakes are about an inch from the substrate. it dosent suck sand up for me.

The aquaclears have a 2 piece tube , just use the first section of the tube and leave the lower tube off .

You shouldn't have a problem. My intake is about 2" from the sub and it's fine.
