well i have been thinking on getting another filter for a few reasons:
#1 tank gets dirtier since i added the 2 rams and 6 cory cats.
#2 i want something that will give me a good flow and cleans i currently have a koralia 3 which gives me 850 gph but it doesnt clean at all and want to take it out
#3 and the most importannt thing its easier to hide the intake tube than the power head
oh yeah i have been thinking on getting and emperor 400 on my 75 gallon tank, i have looked at the Aquaclear 110 and the tetra wispers and i dont like the ac110 and the tetra i havent found one rated for my tank
oh yeah 2 more questions
is there such thing as too much filtration???
and will the bio wheel be bad for a planted tank i have been told that they are really bad because it remuves things plants need and no because its just a way to get good bacteria and it wont affect it at all and will help with algae

with that size tank and you want a good flow...why not go for canister filter?
having a couple of filter, powerhead, that overfilter just seems to waster energy and electric IMO while a canister can do just that more efficiently and less power consumption.
its a 75 gallon and i already have a fluval 404 but the output its hooked to my uv sterilizer and i had to cuztumize it so it didnt take 2 much space, and the fluval does a good job but i would like it to do a better job
i added the elbow that its on the right side of the pic
ya its an inline and when i got this whole set up (uv sterilizer, filter, aquarium, etc) it was hooked to the uv so it never had the original filter output nozzle so it dont have the good water flow that its supposed to have, thats one of the reasons for using the powerhead
If you want something with good flow and that cleans extremely well get an FX5. I've had mine going for a little over a week now and my tank is ultra clear. It's your 404 on steroids and you can find good deals on them on eBay. Picked mine up for $216 with filter media. Best investment I have mad so far in my tank, besides my fish and plants that is.
yeah i have been looking at them for a while but the only issue that i have its that its way over my budget, another reason on getting it its that i have a 45 dollar petco gift card (older sister got it from a friend and she hates petco so she gave it to me but it expires on the 20th of this month) so if i was to buy the filter it will practically be free cuz with taxes and free shippin online its 44.87 and in store its 72.65.
i wanted to buy the fx5 but when the gf found out how much they cost she flipped out
http://youtu.be/Gx81sA2ZQxI this is the video of m water flow, sorry for the bad video quality my phone its not the greatest
Try looking into these canister filters. http://truaqua.com/aquatop-canister-filter-cf-500uv.html
Cheapest canister filter out there. Works very well. And has very good reviews. I have the CF-300 on my 29 gallon and it's PERFECT. It has plenty of room for any kind of media you want to put in. Unfortunately the CF-500 model always comes with a UV. I haven't found one where it doesn't have one. Still a very good price in my opinion.
thanks for your reply but i got the emperon 400 on the mail the other day
