breeding pond

I got a 3500 gal pond with about 5 generations of goldfish. They breed but I get only two or three more fish a year. Its lightly planted but I'm wondering who else breeds fish in their pond and how well they do??

me, thats the problem lightly planted and your pond is bigger then mine by 2,000 gallon, its the lack of hidding spots hell put some pvc pipes that bigger fish can't get to but the fry can hide in, also try taking some fry out

I had to sink cinder blocks at the bottom due for it being so deep. I had to put a fountain in because i was get alot of mosquito larva. But What plants do you have in your pond. And how do you have them planted

hmm, plant the shore up real good with marginal plants they like to hid in the roots around the baskets, also lots of anacharis or hornwort will provides lots of hiding spots, some lilys will help also
