im just very lost on how, if my gravel will work for capping and all sorts of questions... i was going to do a mixture of miracle grow, sand, clay, and a little ash that is decomposed. my gravel is a larger grain like you would find at petsmart. will it be able to cap it right and allow me to plant with out disturbing the dirt. also how long will it take to settle at the bottom and add my fish back ?

i have a 120gal and i put about 2parts dirt and one part peat and it came to about 2 inches of dirt. i used about 13lb of the 25lbs....with clay you should keep the clay to dirt ratio less then 1:10 (1 part clay : 10 parts dirt)

for me personally i didnt add any clay because i believe that dirt will have all the nutrients that are needed for plants and if i need more i could always add an iron nail into the dirt or something...you should read my article about clay and iron

well i live in tn its not really like clay its just our land is clay rich if you follow red clay is super abundant here so ill have a little in the mix.
