Aquarium Sealant?

I was wondering if what kind of silicone adhesive do use other than the aquarium sealants at fish stores. 

Basically can i use ones from hardware stores that are still safe for aquariums and specifically which ones cause i know a few are toxic.

Just curious but I got GE silicone I and it says on the back not for aquarium use. Why?

I agree with GSP on the GE I ,I have bought it at walmart many times and used it to put baffles in refuguims.
