Hey guys!

I have a dirted 15 gallon long tank, I had it stocked with about 10 harlequin rasboras, and now I only have 2 left. The problem is I have only found like 1 or 2 dead, the rest have just disappeared.

I am open to any thoughts you guys might have about why and/or any suggestions for another type of fish that would be cool if the rest of these guys dont make it.

Thanks!

P.S.-

here's my tank right now, im adding some more dwarf sag to the right side, but im open to any suggestions!

got a crab or a craw fish, also it might be because its a new tank

Your firter probably suck them up or maybe your other fishes are eating the corpse? It happend frequently if they aren't been enough. Maybe they are secret agents and are scaping your tank at night, they left the one you found behind because they didn't wanted you to suspect anything !!!! lol jk

Three variations in my opinion

1) They are being sucked into the filter. Open the filter daily to check if there are any corpses in there before they decay.

2) Other fish are bullying and eating them over night. Fish are pretty much like piranhas, if they find a corpse they will take a bite and all there will be left in the morning is bones. If only.

3) They are hiding well in the plants or found a cave in the bogwood which they became trapped in.

also check your ammonia levels and nirtate levels my guessing is they might be getting sucked in the filter but they are kinda big, look on the floor and look on any parts of the tank where they could've jumped out.

Fish can decay pretty quickly too i just found a dead fish of mine behind a cave that he was caught in i checked my ammonia levels and they where fine so my guess is he got stuck and wasn't able to get himself out.check under every decor you have and look carefully in the plants you might find flooating dead fish in there.also check behind the plants too as well as in the plants.

If your tank doesn't have a good seal on it they could be going suicidal on you so you might wanna check behind your tank on the floor.  Another might be getting sucked into your filter, but I can't see your filter real well so I am not sure what to think besides my first suggestion.  Go with a group of 8 to 10 neon tetras or longfin serpae minor tetras.  Best of luck!

This used to happen to me all the time... I never though about the checking the filter though! give that a try!!

Does your tuna salad taste any differently these days?
