Fluval Edge 2 -- 12 gallon

Hi everybody. Just got the Fluval Edge 2 today and although I'm champing at the bit to so SOMETHING with it, I want to see what you awesome people think would be an awesome use of the space.

Not going to be doing anything for about a month so I can plan it out properly, so let me know what you think and why!

a unique piece of drift wood in the middle. a couple of anubis attached to the driftwood. tall growing single species plant in the background. 2-3 different species of midground plant. 1-2 different species of foreground plants. 10-12 cardinal tetras (or just use neon tetras if you wanna do it low budget). 6-10 cherry shrimps. 2 otto cats. 2 cory cats.

Just got my hands on a gorgeous blue butterfly betta for the tank. He's being delivered early next week. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get my hands on any shimp as I have literally never even seen one in my LFS, but I'll definitely give it a look into.
Cory cats are just a given ;) I love the wonky-looking little things. Got some peppered cories in my six gallon, so I might go with a different species in the twelve gallon, but there will most certainly be cories.

My real debate at the moment is about other fish besides the betta. I have neons in with my betta in with the six gallon and he's eaten two of them (or they've eaten each other... I haven't witnessed it) so I'd rather not throw more in with another betta. I was thinking maybe platys.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Platys might work. You could get a really cool priece of driftwood and attach a java fern windowløve. Ludwigia in the back and maybe some swords would be nice
