New to the fish world. My son got goldfish from an aunt. Needless to say they doesn't make it long. So I went to petsmart bought a 5.5 gallon tank plus starter kit. And asked an associate whats an easy fish.
she directed me to a Betta fish. I have no idea what kind of Betta it is. But I was told it was a female. (Which is cool since shes pink) anyway. Shes been in the tank for about 2 weeks now. Ive changed her water twice and everything seems ok.. my only question is what can I do to make her happy? Were never home so I don't interact with her much and my son just bangs on the glass so I had to put the tank up high. She has brightly colored glass stones and 1 artificial plant and 1 natural plant. Ill watch her swim sometimes and she just kinda hangs out in the corners. Doesn't do much. I'm worried she ls lonely or something. Any suggestions??

I'd remove the large gravel and replace it with a little flourite and remove the artificial plant and get a cryptocoryne wendtii, but you don't need to remove the plant. Get a good quality food, like omega one or new life spectum, and maybe add 2 otos. Don't forget to have a heater and filter, even though they do breath air.
