Odd acting Rummynose tetras.

From all the reading I have done rummy's are supposed to be very peaceful fish, right? Well my newly purchased rummys are picking on my beloved cories. Like fin nipping behavior. I hasn't really escalated, so my guess is that when they stumble about the bottom and see my long fin cories, their a little curious. I still want to stop this behaviour, any ideas?

I have purchased 8 rummynose, they like to be in groups so i thought 8 would be enough.

well i do have some danios and they seem to pick on the rummys every now and then.

would adding a more peaceful fish stop the nippping, like 6 neons or cardinals?

be careful with the neons even thought tetras are indeed peaceful your rummynose might fin nip on your neons as well. if you just recently got your rummynose give them a few more days to get use to their new place before adding more fishes.

Hi there,

I've had a few trouble makers with my rummy noses, nipping at my golden ram. Luckily he's big enough to take care of himself but I wouldn't put anything with longer fins than that in with rummy nose.

Also this happens no matter how much is being fed as well, anyone would think they're doing it for malicious fun - damn...I have ASBO rummy nose :(

Just 5 - and even amongst them it seems to be just the smallest one that nips.....

that is very strange 5 or 6 rummy nose should be schooling in a tank and doing their own thing. i mean even my long skirt tetras use to fin nip my neons and other tanks for a bit but then they just stop doing after living together for a while.
