This is a 55 I got off of craigslist along with a fluval 304 for 75 bucks not to bad.  Im in planning stage right now the stand it came with im not in love with so my dad and i are in the works of building a new one so it will sit a little higher. In the background you can see my bag of dirt got the one i noticed in the background of one of dustins videos, just trying to use what i have seen that works. Im hella motivated to get a beautiful planted tank already got a shopping cart full of a list of plants off of aquaticjungles.com not ordering them till im at that stage though.

Some background on me, never did tanks before till about April of this year. I have a 30 and a 10 setup right now it started with just fish and i have tried to do plants never really had much luck. I didnt have the right light at first and my substrate is all wrong. A couple of months ago i went on a mission to learn as much as possible from the library to the internet and about 3 weeks ago i found dustinsfishtanks and watched every single video. This dude is right up my alley he seems to keep it simple and cheap two things that make it even easier to stay motivated.

Ok so on to new things and hopefully better things, the new 55 i going to use this lights i read about on,

http://americanaquariumproducts.com/PowerCompact.html#85

They call is a sho cfl, all i know is that it is one of those spiral screw in lights the specs are

--light output 4250 avg lumens

--energy used 85 watts

--life 10,000 avg hours

--cri 82

--6400K

It says it replaces 250w incandescent, I already bought two I was going to set them up with the new tank see how they did if they didnt do well i was switching to T5.

Substrate is going to be dirt covered with eco complete some clay and finally sand.

Oh yeah and i got some driftwood i found on my lastest vacation going to us it fo sho.
