I like to try different things, and this means adding things. Unfortunately, adding things necessitates taking other things away. Its a hobby; go with whatever you like.

If you wanna keep what's in there I'd go with some carpeting plants like Peter suggested and maybe next time use darker gravel. The light colored gravel tends to wash out the color in your fishes.
