Its not a permanet , drain out what you want , shut it off and remove it !

I just built something like this today, but instead of hooking it up to a pump, I attached it to my Aqueon water changer.  Basically it's 1/2" pvc pipe, (2) 1/2" 90s, (1) 1/2" threaded coupling and one male 3/4" threaded to 1/2" reducer.  Just used it and it worked great.  A lot better than holding a hose in the tank with plywood on top.
