For my 29 gallon tank that I'm starting soon is only going to have an Aqueon T5NO Dual  Light Fixture. But sometime in the future when I have enough money [Summer Job!] Im going to upgrade to a T5HO Light Fixture, but that means I'm gonna need Co2 as well. So I was wondering if anyone did Paintball co2 on this forum. I only have a few questions. Will a 24oz Paintball canister be enough for a 29 gallon tank? And how long will it last? I also read that you need a couple things. I paintball sometimes so the co2 canister is no problem. But I'm not sure where to buy Paintball ASA On/Off Valve w/ 2 Threads and Paintball co2 Gauge.

From a paintball CO2 user, don't get it.  I am gonna get a 5lb. tank very shortly.  Many places say you should get 3 months of 1-2 bps, but I can't get more than a month and I've checked for leaks and don't have any.  You may have better luck, but my advice would be to just get a normal tank.  Also, if you do decide to go paintball, you can get a regulator to fit the tank, but if you ever do switch to a standard tank you will need a new regulator.  What I did is get a standard regulator and got an adapter from a home brewing site to go from paintball to standard threads.  About $10.

Cant afford 400 dollars for a regular co2 tank. Still in highschool. >.> So, I might just try the Paintball co2 and refilling isnt that big of a deal for me. I can bike to the nearest Paintball store in like 10 minutes to refill and its like $5 the last time i refilled. I havent paintballed in a while so hopefully the price hasnt changed.

They sell two thread regulators at the paintball shop but its 60 bucks for one, so I might just go buy one on Amazon or eBay.

i got a paintball co2 setup for $50 (diffuser, asa on/off, gauge, needle valve, and tubing) off of the planted tank forum.. another $15 for a 24 oz tank. im happy. dont have much space for a large co2 tank and dont really have to have one for a 20 gallon aquarium. been about a month and a half and i will need a refill this week or next week, only run co2 during the day and a airstone overnight.

I either have to buy the 60 dollar asa on/off guage or buy it online for 45 dollars. Needle Valve from Home Depot and Tubing as well. Im gonna make my diffuser with the Elite Mini Filter or just buy a glass diffuser.

Do you think 20oz will be enough for a 29 gallon?

How much does it cost you for refills?
