Currently I have 4 serpae tetras, and 4 bloodfin tetras in a 29g planted community tank. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for good fish I could put in along with those (something not in the tetra family).

cory and maybe a bristlenose pleco and some shrimps
I have a community tank with gold barbs and black skirt tetras and they do just fine .... They came with a tank I bought and they had them in cold water no heater so I kept them that way

you should have a heater..they are tropical fish that need 78-82 degree

the previous owner probability didn't know what he was doing.

They had these fish cold water for a few years before I got them there pretty big and Ive had them for almost two months .... The tetras are warm water but that species of barb is cold.... I posted a vid on my page of me putting dirt in this tank I bought this tank for my gold fish I used the barbs and tetras to cycle the tank so.... As long as they survive they can keep the gold fish company
