it depends on the tank some tanks clear up crystal clear right away others may stay a little cloudy forever. it can depend on the gravel too. but id say 1-3 weeks

What kind of dirt did you use ? Did you cap the dirt ?how many water changes did you do I have a vid on YouTube my user name is bigrob18772  it's not super detailed but it shows the process ..... Is you have discoloration you should do water changed if you have floaters like dirt or pieces of bark floating I would recommend putting pillow stuffing in your filter they usually sell it at mom and pops fish stores don't forget to keep your bio media in fish water while you do this
