I know about Dustin's choice of Miracle Grow Organic Potting Mix. But When I was shopping for
gardening, I did notice Miracle Grow Organic Gardening Soil. During that time, I have been thinking of the substrate soil size per parts like people talk about Gravel size.
Im sure most of you know the process of how planets intake nutrients from the roots. But also
the process of erosion. Less erosion ocurs when planets deep roots and when many dense count of vegetation per area. Thus more nutrients staying within the dirt substrate instead it flows into the water.
which is more preferable to what scientific reason towards different goals like
dense planted or less planted tank? I would like if we go deeper into this.
what do you guys think?
-----------------------------------------------------
Here is my thinking. I think it would be nice to have layers of the most dense soil in the bottom section
of the tank, then top soil, and lastly just gravel/sand. It would pretty match the profile of Aerobic and
Anaerobic. I see gardeners layer different dirts in their outdoor gardens.

but what you don't see in there is creature underground working their magic..causing exchange of oxygen into the soil... having that much dirt and soil might create a problem later on.
i prefer less dense plant than dense...just cause this allow my fish to move around in open space.
I am not adding too much dirt and gravel. Based on the height of my tall tank. Of course
you can't see in micro organism and gas exchange in dead eye. Doesn't mean that is not.
My goal is to prevent the best way to keep nutrients in the dirt and not erosion. Ether way, I am learning alot of the research I have been doing. It pretty cool people have many ways of doing dirt and their theory of why they do it their way.
