Dry ferts u buy then mix urself are the best. Brand name ferts(api,flourish) are just dry ferts premixed and overpriced. So basically buying the ferts in powder form and then mixing them yourself to ur tanks specific needs. Like if u have lots of red plants u can make a mix with extra iron to keep the reds in the plants or u want more potash or other. Basically watthey sell u at lfs works but the best is if u buy dry ferts yourself. If u want to do dry ferts look up ei dosing(estimated index dosing) hope i helped a bit if noy some1 will add something i missed
