I need to remove a large crypt from my tank that has overgrown the aquascape. I feel like it will create a mess with the dirt and all if I pull it out, so any tips on how I should proceed? I am going to try and go really slow, and also have a siphon pulling water out to suck up anything as I remove the large root ball. Thanks

well wat ur doing is going to help also turn off all filters and n e thing creating water movement. wen u pull it up if u notice the roots stretching across ur tank i would suggest just trimming them. hopefully thats not the case. this is really one of the only down sides of dirted tanks. :( good luck with the up root

Ok I will plan on turning off everything as well. And yeah, I agree, this is one of the not things I don't like about dirt. Thanks!!

I recently had to get rid of a few VERY large amazon sword and the only way I could do it without making a huge mess was to just cut them at the root and throw them away. Good luck.

I actually pulled mine out completely and successfully. I just went super slow and did a big water change. No mess!
