well wat u can do is move the plants all together to the back left side of tank. then just move all ur decor to the right side . soo it looks like u have a forest of fake plants on the left and ur decor on the other side

That sounds pretty cool! Should I try and go for some live plants? If so, which ones?

If u want live plants is really up to u. Easy begginer plants are java moss, java fern, anubias (most near all types), and floating plants like water lettuce and duckweed or riccia
