the most important thing is your : biological media
make sure you keep this in a bucket of tank water and keep an air stone on it until you move that day and once u get there oxygen it back up. Keep 1-2 fish in there also.
As for the tank water....drain it down and fill up with new water in the tank when u get there then run the biological media ASAP and move fish in after a few hour.
Keep all fish in bucket of tank water and air stone if possible.
where u going put all the water? in your car? LOL
lol...i thought we talking about the same thing..LOL
if thats the case...def keep all the water and put it back once u move the tank to your room.
I moved my 125 gallon a few months ago. What I did was get some sterilite storage bins and fill them about half way with my water from the tank. I then put my fish in them for transport. I wan't really able to keep any water in the tank as it was too heavy. But I used 3 different sterilite bins and was able to keep around 50 or 60 gallons which is pretty good. This whole plan will work if you are just moving a short distance. I wouldn't try to keep your fish in the bins for more then a couple hours. I did all the tear down and set up in the same day so my filters were not affected. Hope this helps.
