Hey guys and gals,
I was thinking of starting a container pond with a whiskey barrel. Just wondering if anyone has ever done that and if they had any problems or good experiences. Pro's and Con's I guess. Thanks for any input in advance.

that guy has a barrel pond, don't see him online here that often though but you could probably message him through youtube.
I started with one of these. It got too warm and cooked my goldfish I had in it. Ended up turning it into the filter for my next pond.
In my experience, these work great for plants, but not fish. I use a half barrel to grow my Indian water lotus. They love it. I also through some goldfish eggs in there just to eat the mosquito larva. The ones in there grow a lot faster than the ones in my pond, or outdoor tanks. I think this is just because they have no competition for food, and it is very easy to do water changes on it. That being said, It is not the ideal habitat for goldfish. Mine just breed about every day, so I might as well get some fry out of it.
