my first disscussion here so lets hope its in the right section ! , i have bought a 230 liter aquarium form my lfs at a very good price . all is well filter maturing on the preivous tank to get all that good bacteria going ! anyway i need a plan !  the tank is around 4 foot long so i thinking maybe a triangular shape from left to right ? i want some ideas and a plan so i have to spend the mininum amount of money as possible , fish wise discus as a centerpiece fish 4 possibly ? then various catfish and tetras possibly rams, i am going for a more south american theme if that would be possible no dirt thou cos it would be first time dirting a tank and if i get it wrong that would be at least 2 dead discus , gravel tho its a black fine stuff  about 1-3mm size ( just in case of corys )  and i was thinking some lightly brown coloured around the lower side of the tank ,its jbl manado if any of you know it,if i went with the triangular aquascape  , lights 2 54 watt glo lights one red one blue , so guys ANY help apprieciated .

Alge is the easiest plant to grow all you need is light and after no time tadah your tank is covered with it and sometimes if your lucky you'll get different color alge yeah!!!! :D

Hey sam!

I have one word for you. Bogwood. I'm rescaping my tank, look at me vid, and i've also been thinking triangles, i'm cutting my tank to one triangle slightly off centre, using bogwood. it is the most versatile decoration. Also look at plants like Dwarf sag and baby tears that spread gives a nice effect!

I wouldn't go with black gravel if i where you, it ends up going white and doesn't look natural, try sand or a brownish gravel!
