im looking for a very easy to maintain algae eater to just clean off my decor and plants and what not but none of my local pet stored have that many to choose from.. I was thinking of some type of shrimp. Maybe like a cherry shrimp. I would love to get a plecostomus but because my tank is only 10 gallons im afraid hes gonna get too big too quickly.. Just give me some suggestions of what great algae eater you guys have and how they work for you, also if you separately feed them anything besides the algae please include that too. Thanks everyone!

oto catfish i like em better than some plecos there probably the best and most convient and the stay small for a 10 gal and eat alot of algae a team of otos and amano shrimp could wipe out a algae forsaken tank

100% agree on that just because your tank is too small to house a bristlenose anyway.

oto will eat zucchini, veggies, potaote....( i have a vid about them and their diet)

they will not eat process food as they are wild caught and pretty sensitive to introduce to a tank.

But one of my video should help you get them into your tank without a problem.

How about some Nerite snails? I have recently added some Zebra Nerites and they have single handedly cleaned out all the green hair algae I had growing on my shell bed for the shell dwellers within a few days. Now they are moving on to keeping the driftwood, plants and rocks clean as well.
