75 degree F is a normal temp.

When temp stay lower, they tend to be less active and sluggish. Prone to fin rot often.

my two bettas of 5 bettas are in two tanks that are too small for me to heat so they sit at room temp and i have more then once left the window open less then a foot away at night and checked the water around 55 degrees and they are fine. they are much better though between 78-82 degrees though.

what size are the tanks you have them in ?

One in a 3.5 gal one in a 5 gallon. Two 10 gallons and a 30 gallon.

mines only 7 gallon and I heat that no problem

3.5 and 5 gallon tanks are too small to heat? I think not lol
exactly you can get heaters that are as small as 4 inch long lol
Ya but the surface area of the heater to the water vs 50-60 degree air over the surface of the water the heaters can't keep up. Plus I also don't like the option of not being able to adjust the temp it just being set around 78 degrees.
you can get a wee 25 watt 6 inch heater off ebay mate , that's what I have on the 30 litre tank it's open top and the temp stays steady

I raised the temp to 22 I'm going to put him in later to see how he does

moved him in a few hours ago hes really active and eating well , think he will be fine :)
