what might be causing my plants to melt (die)

i have a 10 gallon dirt tank that for some reason my plants started to melt. i have 2 wpg and have a diy co2 being diffused into a bell then into my HOB filter. my fish are doing fine. as for plants i have ludwigia, wisteria,amazon sword, hornwort, duckweed, java fern and anubius. at first i thought it was because the hornwort and duckweed were blocking the light so i cut a lot of it, to were i have almost none. but my wisteria and ludwiga continue to melt. please help as i use this tank to grow palnts before i transfer them in to my big tank. if something is wrong i dont want it to have spread to my big tank.

How long have the plants been in there? Many plants will melt when are moved or taken from an emmersed setup to a submerged one.

Is it the whole plant or just the lower half? Ludwigia & wisteria will lose lower leaves once the upper ones start to grow. You cut the tops, take out the lower portion and replant the top.

They have been in there a little less then a year. And yes it started from the bottom and is spreading to the top. I tried cutting abovE the melting point but it didnt help. It continued to spread.

You're going to have to trace the problem back. Have you done anything different to the tank before the melting started? Flourish Excel can melt some plants, but I'm not aware of it happening to ludwigia and wisteria.
