How long has he been constantly fighting his reflection? He should get used to it and stop. I've had two Bettas in a 10 gallon with a divider that could see eachother. For the first couple of days, they'd get all riled up and flare at eachother and then they got used to eachother.

I'd be more worried if it wasn't flaring.

too much flaring can lead to stress for the betta so its good to time the mirror out
