40 gallon breeder suggestions

I think I'm gonna start a 40 gallon breeder tank. I want to breed triple red apistos and some other things if I can. What other fish can breed in the same tank as apistos and still live and breed in harmony? I'm thinking corys, and possibly some tetras. I'm a begginer so I want to breed begginer fish.

a couple pair of apisto will do fine with caves/hiding spot.

 

corys and tetras are fine with them
